Sunday, September 4: Signs
John 1:1–18
This week we’re beginning a new series in the first 12 chapters of John that we are calling “Signs.”
In his gospel, John tells us, “Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”
Throughout the series we’ll hear from John as he describes seven signs that Jesus performed to demonstrate that He is truly God.
This week, as John begins his gospel, he’ll first give us an introduction to the many themes we see in his writing. Verses 1-18 are sometimes referred to as John’s prologue, and we’ll see many of the ideas he develops later on laid out for us.
Join us this week as we begin a new series and consider the many ways that Jesus has demonstrated who He is. See you Sunday!
Service times are at 9:30 & 11:00. If you can’t make it in person, you can watch live at those times.
