Samuel – 1 Samuel 15:1–35

Sunday, March 13: Samuel

1 Samuel 15:1–35

The Old Testament can sometimes be a source of confusion for people who have only ever read the New Testament. When read in an off-hand sort of way, without considering the full scope of the Bible, the Old Testament God can sound like God’s younger, angrier years, or even the description of another God altogether.

How could Jesus, famous for turning the other cheek, really be the same God who orders the full destruction of the Amalekites?

Further, when Saul tries his best and falls just a little bit short, how is it fair that God decides he should no longer be the King of Israel?

Maybe most importantly to us, how does this understanding of God’s wrath, and God’s absolute commitment to justice inform the way we understand our lives today?

Join us this week as we continue our series in 1 Samuel, and explore the perfect justice of God. See you Sunday!

Service times are at 9:30 & 11:00. If you can’t make it in person, you can watch live at those times.
