Life Together, Ecclesiastes 4:9–12

Last summer I led a 4th and 5th grade boys Bible Study here at the church. We called it Adventure Buds. Don’t judge the name…we had a plan. We wanted to tap into the adventurous spirit of these boys, but also tap into the practical truths that God has for us. So we taught them how to start a fire…and then challenged them to fan into flame the gifts God has given them. We taught them how to read a map with a compass…and showed them that the Word of God is our road map and Jesus shows us the way to go.

We taught them about knot tying. You only need three good knots to get you through life…and you also need some good, Godly people in your life too. Because a cord of three strands is not easily broken (Ecc. 4:12).

So yeah, we taught them some adventure skills…but they left with the word of God hidden in their hearts to remind them that doing life with Jesus and the Jesus-people around you is better than wandering lost and alone. The adventure of abundant life is better when we do life together.

The next three weeks we want to dive into what Scripture says about doing life together. This week Johnny will teach on the value of community. Next week Gary will bring the wisdom of Godly friendships. And we will close out the series of living life on mission…together. After this short series, we will be going verse by verse through Philippians.

See you Sunday!

Service times are at 9:00 & 11:00. If you can’t make it in person, you can watch live at those times.
