Sunday, July 31: Doctrine
God the Father
Throughout Scripture, God is referred to as “Father” by His people, by His Son, and by Himself. But what does it mean for God to be our Father? What does that mean in our day-to-day lives?
This Sunday, we’ll continue our doctrine series by talking about God the Father. At the heart of the Father is His goodness. James 1:17 says, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” The truth that God never changes (and never needs to) is great news for human beings! He is utterly different from us.
We will examine how God’s goodness influences His discipline of His children, His provision, and His role in the world.
All of us will have different reactions to the name, “Father.” Hopefully, we’ll see clearly that God is the perfect Father who can be trusted with our whole hearts.
I am excited to worship on Sunday! See you then.
Service times are at 9:30 & 11:00. If you can’t make it in person, you can watch live at those times.
