Sunday, January 24: The Judges
Judges 6:1–39
As the cycle of Judges continues in chapter 6, we see God’s people have once again fallen into all sorts of evil, nonsense, and general bad decision making. Among them is Gideon, a nobody from nowhere.
As the people of God finally recognize their need for help and pray for deliverance, God raises up Gideon as a judge. Except Gideon is afraid. He’s not enough, the enemy is too big, the task is too great. But, God meets him in his fear. Again, and again, and again. Gideon has the dubious distinction of being one of the most fearful characters in the Bible, and it’s only through the patience of God that he is eventually used to overthrow the evil that Israel is subjected to.
Join us this week as we talk about the fear that interrupts our obedience, the idols that try to drag us away from true worship, and the God who is faithful to us despite our faltering faith. See you Sunday!
You can participate online at 8:00 AM, 9:30, or 11:00. You can also join us in person at 9:30 or 11:00 by registering at https://ghbelievers.churchcenter.com/registrations/events.
