Living Stones – 1 Peter 2:11–25

Sunday, May 1: Living Stones

1 Peter 2:11–25

Theodore Roosevelt is credited with having said, “Knowing what’s right doesn’t mean much unless you do what’s right.”

Jesus said something similar in Matthew 7: “You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit.”

As we continue in our Living Stones series, Peter will remind us about the importance of our conduct, or our walk. Since we have heard the gospel and received Jesus, how do we walk it out? How do we bear fruit in keeping with the tree that Jesus has planted?

Unsurprisingly, the answer Peter offers leads us in the direction of Jesus, all the way to the cross. Enduring righteous suffering, using our freedom for what God has called us to, instead of using it as freedom to serve ourselves, all to point the way to the one who healed us.

Join us this week as we consider our conduct, how we order our steps, and how we respond when our imitation of Jesus leads down difficult paths.

See you Sunday!

Service times are at 9:30 & 11:00. If you can’t make it in person, you can watch live at those times.
