Sunday, December 31: Baptism
Acts 2:38
Do you remember the day you were baptized? Was it in a lake, or a river, or a stream? Perhaps even a horse trough? No matter where you were baptized, it’s probably a day that you will remember for the rest of your life. It’s the marker between an old life, and an old way of being, and the welcome into the new life that Jesus makes possible through his birth, life, death and resurrection.
This Sunday we’re welcoming new sisters and brothers into the family of God as we baptize them in the presence of friends and family. We’ll be celebrating what Jesus has done on their behalf, and talking about what it is that actually happens to bring them to a baptism response.
If you have friends or family who wonder why anyone would get baptized, or what the gospel is, or even what a baptism is, bring them along this Sunday.
Join us as we celebrate the new life that God has created in the lives of his children.
