We are expanding the residency program at Believers Fellowship by taking on Jeremiah Hinton as a pastoral resident. He will be assisting with teaching and spiritual formation over the next two years.
About Jeremiah
After serving five years in the United States Navy, Jeremiah settled into Seattle to prepare for the call God had placed on his life. Jeremiah studied Christian Theology and Sociology in a dual degree program at Seattle Pacific University. He then attended Seattle Pacific Seminary’s Masters of Divinity program. During his Master’s program, Jeremiah was fortunate enough to marry his best friend, Gina. They moved from Seattle to Gig Harbor in 2015, where they can enjoy the woods, the water, and the lack of traffic. Both Jeremiah and Gina are passionate about deep community, eating and cooking good food, and dogs of all kinds. While Jeremiah is looking forward to returning to military service, having commissioned as a Navy chaplain in 2014, he is excited to see the ways that God is working in his local community as well.
About the Pastoral Residency Program
The purpose of the residency program is to give a recent college or seminary graduate supervised experience to complement their education and prepare them for full-time vocational ministry. While Matt will be Jeremiah’s primary supervisor, Jeremiah will work with a number of ministries at Believers Fellowship. The residency will include (among other things):
- Weekly leadership meetings with Matt
- Leading a small group
- Teaching classes
- Spiritual formation oversight
- Teaching on Sunday morning 2–3 times per year
- Filling in for Student Ministry
