This Sunday, we unpack the last three “you have heard it said…but I say” teachings of Jesus. In each case, Jesus shows us the wisdom of living out His teachings in the Kingdom of God so that we can “let our light shine so that others see our good works and glorify our Father who is in heaven.” We will look at living with honesty and integrity. We don’t have to ‘swear an oath’ so people believe us, but we should live out our faith genuinely and let our yes be yes.

As we examine the text, we will also seek an understanding of how we should love our neighbors and our enemies. How can we live with dignity and honor while being persecuted and ridiculed? Jesus gives us a few examples of what it could look like for the people he is teaching, and we will examine how those principles apply to us today.
