Galatians 1:11–24

One of the simultaneously best and worst parts about being a human is we’re very aware of the past, even as we exist in the present, and anticipate the future.

Our past can remind us of good things like faithfulness, honor, and success, but it can also remind us of our failures. The places we’ve missed, fallen short, or forgotten to be who we were called to be. What’s done is done, for better or worse.

While this may be the reality we exist in as time-bound creatures, the gospel message introduces a new aspect: redemption.

In the life of Paul, we see a man who pursued the wrong goals and sprinted off in the wrong direction, until he encountered Jesus. In his conversion, Paul’s past became a testimony to the goodness of God, the faithfulness of God, and the mercy of God. It was through his past that God was glorified.

Join us this week as we talk about what it means that God is at the center of our story, and that he redeems our past for his glory.

See you Sunday!
