Sunday, November 5: Champs & Misfits
Hebrews 11:4–7
When Abram left his home in Ur with a U-Haul and someone asked, “Hey Abram! Where you going?” and he replied, “I don’t know. God told me to leave, so I’m going, not knowing.” That had to seem a bit off.
People must have thought Moses was a few bricks shy of a pyramid when he left behind the wealth, power and pleasures of Egypt to lead a pack of whiny slaves into the wilderness.
It’s been pointed out, however, that these champions of faith were people that “perplexed those around them, but pleased God above them.”
This week we will look at the first three “misfits” on the writer’s list. A shepherd named Abel; a preacher named Enoch and a farmer named Noah. See you on Sunday.
P.S. Don’t forget that Daylight Savings ends this Sunday. “Fall back” and enjoy your extra hour of sleep!
